The cancellation of active substances in plant protection and the discussion about the use of copper are central research activities in viticulture and fruit growing.
The HBLAuBA for viticulture and pomology is a so-called GEP institution:
Regulation (EU) No. 284/2013 sets out the data requirements for plant protection products (formerly: Annex III of Directive 91/414/EEC). According to this, efficacy trials must be carried out by official or officially recognised test facilities. As the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 284/2013 correspond to the GEP requirements according to EPPO Standard PP 1/181.
Studies on the efficacy of plant protection products that are prepared for applications for authorisation can only be considered in the authorisation procedure if they meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 284/2013 with regard to the data requirements for plant protection products. For efficacy trials, this also includes compliance with the principles of Good Experimental Practice (GEP).
Every year, numerous plant protection trials are carried out in viticulture and fruit growing. At international level, HBLAuBA / Wein & Obst RTD is currently committed to re-authorising phosphonates for biological plant protection.
